Terms and conditions

Last updated 6 October 2026

These terms cover your use of the MacLenz app and website, made by Aslam Sarfraz (aslamsarfraz.dev, "we", "us"). By installing or using MacLenz you agree to them.

The license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use MacLenz on Macs you own or control. The Free plan has no time limit. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer or remove license checks from MacLenz, except where the law gives you that right.

Free plan and Pro

  • The Free plan has no time limit: the last 3 days of history, one day at a time, and no optimization, export, import or per-core view.
  • History older than 3 days is hidden, kept on your Mac for 30 days after Pro ends, and then deleted.
  • Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly, that renews until you cancel. One license key works on up to 2 Macs.
  • MacLenz shows the date your plan runs until. It stores that date on your Mac, so Pro keeps working offline until then, and it checks the license once a day while you are online.
  • Prices are shown at checkout, before tax. We may change prices for future renewals and will tell you beforehand.

Payments and cancellation

Orders are processed by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record for all our orders. You can cancel any time from the Manage subscription link in MacLenz or in your receipt email. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are described in the refund policy.

Optimization

Optimization pauses apps that you allow while you are not using them, and moves busy background apps to the efficiency cores. A paused app cannot receive messages, notifications or calls until it wakes. MacLenz never quits an app, and it resumes everything when you switch optimization off, quit MacLenz or shut down. You choose which apps are affected and you are responsible for that choice.

Your data

Your activity history belongs to you and stays on your Mac. See the privacy policy.

No warranty, and limits on liability

MacLenz is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Its time and performance figures are measurements and estimates and may not be exact. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data or lost profit, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for MacLenz in the 12 months before the claim.

Ending these terms

You can stop using MacLenz at any time by uninstalling it. We may end a license that is used in breach of these terms, for example a key shared beyond its Macs.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Questions go to support@maclenz.com.
